Islam is a Religion of Intolerance

As for the assertion that the US somehow saved the ME from itself I started laughing. The first Gulf war may have had some legitimacy but was clearly designed to protect oil supply, whereas the second was an attempt by Pearl, Cheney, Wolfowitz and others to Democratize the ME after 9/11. The notion was laughable - how do you democratize Muslims when their religion promotes apostasy, misogyny, intolerance to gays, suppression of women's rights, pedophilia, no freedom of speech and so on.
You should all note how the website Project for the New American Century disappeared after others highlighted it promoted the development of Genotype Weapons.

Europe Can Take Migrants

According to the Department of Homeland Services, the US has 11.7 million undocumented immigrants, all of them migrants rather than refugees. Most are from South and Central America, because of the land borders. So the clear answer is that the EU should be able to integrate 10 million migrants.

Say No to One World Government

The establishment on both sides is trying to end America and merge it into the new global order. That's why their every move is so economically destructive. Trump will bring down this fragile world government and restore Americas place in the world as leader and most successful nation. Our politicians are the traitors within that Cicero warned of, who will destroy our nation for their own purposes. Trump represents the end of that so they are in full panic mode, and openly displaying their disdain and disloyalty to America. Not to mention the totalitarian bent of this new order.

Big Media No Good - Cruz Ends Badly

I completely agree with your newspaper's position that the media, including the supposedly conservative media, has been breathlessly trying to make a brokered convention a self-fulfilling prophesy. But for Cruz to even be considered a nominee by the Republican Convention, he must secure a majority of a state's delegates in eight states. So far, more than half-way through the process, Cruz only has four such states, Texas, Kansas, Maine, and Idaho. (Trump already has nine such states.) Assuming the establishment-types cannot change the rules, Cruz may not even be able to be considered as a nominee unless he does better at winning a majority of some states' delegates from this point forward.

Disgusted with Media Coverage of Politics

I am absolutely incensed, outraged, grossly offended and fed up with the biased Controlled Media harping week after week, month after month about ways to stop Trump and gain a brokered convention in order for some small rich controlling "factional conspiracy" can take the choice away from millions of American citizens who have clearly made their wishes known.

Debate after debate before each critical primary, biased pundits, biased polls, lies, slander, obfuscations the totality of it is totally despicable and undermines everything America stands for.
Stay the course citizens. Time to show these dirty cheating hypocrites who is boss. Do not allow these pretentious smug snobs to disenfranchise us!

Thank You to the Voters of Fort Myers Beach

I wish to express my thanks and gratitude to the Beach voters for such an extraordinary turnout on election day. Not only did you have to choose 2 candidates out of 7, you also had several charter amendments to consider as well. The results are in and we have heard you load and clear!

My hearty congratulations to Tracey and Dennis on their election; I trust you will represent all of us to the best of your ability.

To Alan and Dan your service is greatly appreciated. Serving the residents of our Town is an honor and a privilege but is also can be tough at times and you’ve proved your mettle.

To all the candidates who ran during this election cycle thank you for the collegial atmosphere that you demonstrated during all six forums. Our example could be the standard for all elections where it’s the issues that matter and not the personalities.

Last but not least I wish to thank all those who supported me during this election. Your kind words, encouragement and generosity is deeply appreciated.

There’s no place I’d rather be!

Supreme Court is Terribly Imbalanced

If Merrick Garland is confirmed, the Supreme Court would have five Catholic justices (Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justices Thomas, Anthony Kennedy, Samuel Alito and Sonia Sotomayor) and four Jews (Garland and Associate Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan and Stephen Breyer). A majority of Americans are Protestant, and yet there are no Protestants on the Supreme Court (Scalia was one of six Catholic justices). If that’s no big deal, what would the Punditry be saying if the court had not a single Catholic, Jewish, black, Hispanic or female member?

To the Editor,

I would like to thank the Editor Trent Townsend and the Publisher Carl Conley for the privilege of being a part of the launching of such a great new publication as the Sun Bay Paper, for the first 6 months of it's existence!

It has been a lot of hard work but a lot of fun, I was proud of working with Carl and Trent in the startup of the Island Sand Paper some 15 years ago and also proud of being a part of launching this new endeavor... THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY

As in the previous start up ..... The calling of my own business; Armando's Day Spa and of "season" which is finally upon us, require my full attention and I must tend to my own "flock" once again.

I look forward to many great future issues.

Residents of Fort Myers Beach packed into the Council Chambers of their Town Hall this past Monday to witness the swearing in of the two newly-elected Councilmembers, Tracey Gore and Dennis Boback. With a beach full of people growing anxious over the speed at which the Grand Resorts development was being unveiled, the new Council was greeted warmly during the inauguration ceremonies.

Berne Davis: In Memoriam

Few have had an impact on Lee County like Berne Davis, who passed away this past Monday at the age of 102, just days after her birthday. A patron of the arts throughout Lee County, and a tireless promoter of culture throughout the area, Berne has had an impact on the lives of the countless people she interacted with in her century of life.
