Cheap Syrian Labor Underlies Migrant Crisis


Lower wages is one of the reasons that has been bantered about in political discussions as to why both Democrats and Republicans in America refuse to seriously address immigration reform. As the US contemplates what to do about the large numbers of Syrians who are seeking asylum in our country, we would do well to consider how Turkey has been affected by the massive numbers of Syrian refugees that are now on its soil. By studying their experience we can see more clearly what allowing more low-income, laboring class Syrians to immigrate here will do to our workplaces and wage stability.

New San Carlos Development Heads to County LPA

Many of the residents of San Carlos Island have reacted with trepidation over the news that site of the old Compass Rose Marina will be getting a substantial makeover, as they voiced opposition over the potential increase of traffic and density such a project might cause.
