I’ve been calling for the new President to do a CLEAN SWEEP of ALL Obama appointees, in my columns, since the election!!! Completely rid the Civil Rights Division, DOJ of all attorneys, Democrats and Republicans, and start NEW.

The Civil Rights Division has had a “put COPS in jail” pre- determined mental attitude, since long before I became an FBI Agent and MUST be changed to give EVERYONE an “innocent until proven guilty” chance! AG Sessions should rehire J. Christian Adams , the former ADAG who quit when Holder ordered the Black Panther Party case closed, revealing that he is a true racists.

Adams reported that Holder said that if the Panthers were white, harassing blacks, he would have prosecuted. Numerous Holder, Civil Right DOJ lawyers were held in contempt of Federal Court by Federal Judges (plural) for; Tampering With Evidence, Perjury, Witness Tampering and OTHER criminal offenses while trying to jail the Police for Civil Rights Violations in Ferguson and New Orleans. Other ADAG lawyers violated Federal Court Orders in Texas on Illegal Immigrants cases.

In those cases, the DOJ Attorneys involved were banned from appearing in Federal Courts in 23 states!!! I’ll bet our readers NEVER heard any of that from Main Stream! Holder, himself, is the first and only AG EVER held in contempt of Congress! What did his boss, Obama, do about DOJ lawyers being accused of Federal Crimes? Nothing! An FBI Agent accused of the same would have been FIRED with NO presumption of innocence!!!!!

THERE ARE NO OBAMA APPOINTEES THAT I WOULD EVER TRUST!!! Valerie Jarrett vetted all of them!!!

Regarding the issue of President Trump asking Comey, his employee, about the Flynn investigation; with the Obama IRS illegally targeting Conservatives, the Obama NSA illegally monitoring Citizens, leaks from probable Obama holdovers EVERYWHERE (including the FBI) don’t you think someone needs to keep the investigations/investigators honest? It sure looks like Comey didn’t! The President can and should ask about ANY FBI investigation or NSA action or any other Agency action that the President feels necessary, to keep the leaking “intelligence” and “regulatory” Agencies honest!!
The President’s job is to “Enforce the Rule of Law”! That’s why we elected him, to rid us of an Administration that “overlooked” numerous criminal acts by Obama employees, starting with Hillary!  Oh yes, talk about Obstruction?

How about Obama declaring Hillary innocent DURING the FBI Criminal investigation? What is even worse, I believe that Comey intentionally sabotaged the Clinton email investigation to get Hillary off the hook. In my opinion, AG Lynch was going to decline prosecution on the email investigation blaming Comey’s FBI of blowing the investigation.

The discovery of the “intended” secret meeting on the tarmac between AG Lynch and Bill Clinton knocked Lynch out of the game and caused her to toss the ball to Comey!

In my opinion, the interview of Hillary Clinton by “FBI Agents” was an intentional screw-up. No FBI Agent would ever do an interview like that!  It was outrageous, a debacle and had to be intentional! No Agent, I mean NO Agent I knew could be that stupid and Comey had to have significant control over ALL aspects of that debacle!

Regarding Flynn, keep in mind the President can pardon Flynn! If Obama can pardon convicted, murderous, violent, thieves… President Trump can certainly pardon a wrongly accused loyal American! But Comey had to be trying to set up Trump!

Comey’s firing while he was thousands of miles and hours away from his office was PERFECT. The DOJ sealed Comey’s office and took all his secret records, tapes, computers …you name it. Comey is in deep trouble!

President Trump did NOT commit any Obstruction Violations even if he did ask Comey to cut Flynn a break. FBI Agents ask USA’s to cut subjects breaks all the time and for many reasons. Hey, you know what’s ironic? I believe Comey is going to be asking Trump for a break…you watch!

Why would the President “order” Comey to stop an investigation, risking a controversy, when all he has to do is pardon the man, if he feels he should? What explanations did you get from “despicable me” when he pardoned all those criminals he let back into society to ravage your friends and relatives?

Here’s something else that no one picked up on, when Rep Jason Chaffetz  asked Comey, under oath, if he looked into whether Hillary had lied under oath? Comey responded that he needs a “referral” to open that case. WHAT? ...Mr. FBI Director, Mr. former US Attorney, where the hell did you learn THAT? An AGENT can and DOES open cases based upon News Paper articles, overheard conversations, gossip, TV programs. When I heard that, ALL my suspicions about Comey being either inept or a “Politician” (most likely the latter), came to fruition. I looked at my wife, also a former FBI employee, and she said, “Now you know for sure whose side he’s on”!

Comey was the DOJ “investigator” who got Bill Clinton off the hook on the Marc Rich scandal!!! Really? Yup!

If the President fired Comey, because the President lost faith in the Director…the President was right on the money wasn’t he? But, trust me, there is much, much more than meets the eye on the Comey, Clinton deals. I predict, in my humble opinion, that people are going to jail after the NEW FBI is up and running and it won’t be “anybody Trump”!

Even IF Comey is inept, he has to know that Criminal Intent IS necessary in Obstruction Cases, even if he doesn’t know that intent is NOT necessary in certain Classified Information violations! Negligence is ALL that is required when it comes to our Secrets!! NO intent was necessary in SOME of Hillary’s violations. How can a former US Attorney be THAT wrong THAT many times? Answer…he can’t, it’s intentional!

I’m hoping President Trump will:

1. Fire ALL Obama appointees not stopping until they are ALL gone…Obama had 8 years…Holder was in the DOJ Civil Rights Division hiring racists, militant attorneys LONG before Obama.

2. Pull press passes on the worst fake news media’s, like the NY Times, Washington Com-post, CNN, etc and have Spicer tell the rest that the President will no longer tolerate fake reporting to the American people in an attempt to disrupt our Rule of Law. Report the truth or you’re gone!

3. Aside-I have real problems with Acting FBI Director’s McCabe’s wife receiving $675,000 from the DNC or anyone associated with the Clintons. Remove acting FBI Director McCabe now. Give him a lateral move from Headquarters. Besides, he’s Comey’s man!

4. Direct the AG to open a RICO investigation on Obama and his staff, starting with Hillary.

5. Appoint a FBI Director from a list of retired, “old” guard FBI ADICs like Jim Kallstrom, Doc Coulson, Milt Ahlerich, they will have the President’s back!. You will find them to be loyal to the end, competent investigators, and tough.

Lawyers with no “AGENT” experience make lousy FBI Directors, period! Check the record, starting with Comey!

The latest look at Obamacare prices show insurance through the marketplace costs more than twice as much now as it did in 2013.
New numbers from the the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services show health insurance in Illinois that cost $248 a month in 2013, now costs $517 dollars. That’s a 108 percent increase.
Trouble is, State Sen. Dave Syverson, R-Rockford, said, most insurance through the Obamacare exchange costs a lot more than $517.
“We warned that this was going to happen,” Syverson said. “When you have a small pool of people, you’re going to have adverse selections and you’re going to have losses that are far worse than Washington projected.”
A number of health insurance companies have said they’ve lost millions of dollars on the plans offered on the exchange. Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Kansas City left Missouri’s Obamacare exchange last week after company executives said they lost $100 million.
Syverson said it will be a bit before Illinois insurers make the same kind of choices. When they do, thousand of people could lose access to care.
But Syverson said many Illinoisans who have Obamacare insurance already have lost access.
“In DeKalb County, there is not one provider that is in the Obamacare network. No one,” Syverson said. “In Rockford, third largest city in Illinois, one hospital and only about 10 percent of providers are willing to see Obamacare patients.”
The HHS numbers put Illinois in the middle of the rate hike pack. New Jersey saw a 12 percent price spike over the last four years, while Alabama saw a 222 percent increase.

After spending the session peeling back what they deemed was taxpayer-financed “corporate welfare” in the name of jobs, the Florida House returns this week with a plan to replace those programs with a new $85 million economic development fund that gives Gov. Rick Scott exclusive control — and few strings attached.
The agreement, between House Speaker Richard Corcoran and the governor, and signed off on by Senate President Joe Negron last week, paved the way for Scott to sign the $83 billion budget on Friday and call for a three-day special session starting Wednesday.

In calling back legislators, the governor directed them to add $215 million in K-12 funding to the budget, restore $75 million to the tourism marketing agency, Visit Florida, and create an $85 million grant program within the Department of Economic Opportunity. If they pass the bills, many expect the governor to sign Corcoran’s priority legislation, HB 7069, a controversial public education bill intended to expand charter schools by giving them control of the state’s struggling schools.

The economic development bill proposed by the House, HB 1a, will regulate how taxpayer money is used for economic development. It creates the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund within the Department of Economic Opportunity to finance projects that fit broad criteria to help targeted industries: rural infrastructure, transportation projects for local governments and individual training programs at state colleges and technical schools.

With the stroke of a veto pen, Gov. Rick Scott killed more than $35.8 million for projects sponsored by lawmakers from Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Florida Atlantic University was particularly hard hit, losing $1 million for its Honors College and $1.2 million for its Tech Runway, an entrepreneurial incubator centered on science and technology invention.

A $3 million roadway expansion in Lake Worth also got the ax, as did $5 million for a new science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) curriculum plan at Florida International University called UP:LIFT.

A $5 million STEM teaching lab at Florida State University was also cut. The project was placed in the budget by state Rep. Evan Jenne, D-Hollywood, a Florida State alumnus.

Miami Beach Commissioner Michael Grieco says he doesn’t know a thing about a mysterious South Florida group that raised $200,000 from city bigwigs last year.

But interviews with two of those donors suggest the political action committee is raising money in his name — and that Grieco, who’s running for mayor, solicited at least one contribution.

Miami Beach lobbyists, vendors and real-estate developers all appear on the list of donors to People for Better Leaders — exactly the type of power players whose contributions led to a public outcry during the last Beach election cycle and, ultimately, to stricter campaign-finance laws.

If Grieco or someone acting on his behalf raised money from city vendors and lobbyists to support his campaign, that could violate Beach rules passed in January 2016. A recent Miami-Dade County ordinance also requires candidates to register when they raise cash for political action committees.

The family of a Florida State University football player who died during a 2001 training session will receive the remainder of a legal settlement after Gov. Rick Scott signed 11 “claim” bills last week.

Many of the claim bills, among more than 30 measures Scott signed into law Friday, came years after people were injured or killed and lawsuits were filed alleging negligence by government agencies.

Lawmakers must approve the bills because of “sovereign immunity,” a legal concept that shields agencies from paying large amounts in lawsuits. The bills direct agencies to pay amounts over the sovereign-immunity caps, which were $200,000 or $300,000 in many of the cases.

Scientists predict 2017 will bear the highest number of ticks in recent years, with a jump in reported cases of tick-borne illnesses in some regions of the U.S. Ticks can be found throughout the year in Florida, yet this year there are seasonal differences in the abundance of nymphs and adults. Ticks in either stage can transmit any diseases they carry, so quick removal of ticks and prevention of tick bites are both important.

Ticks are thriving thanks to a recent explosion of the white-footed mice population, which carry Lyme disease, Powassan virus and other tick-borne illnesses.  Health and insect experts are calling it a perfect storm of conditions coming together to create a tick population explosion.  Some scientists are predicting a surge in the number of Lyme-carrying ticks beginning this month and lasting into early summer.

“The risk to humans is going to be high starting this spring,” said Felicia Keesing, a biologist at Bard College in New York, who has spent years researching tick-borne diseases. “We want to get the word out so people can take precautions. Our dream is that we don’t see this translate to human cases.”

Although ticks can acquire the bacteria that cause Lyme and other diseases from other animals, the vast majority are infected by mice. Nymph ticks often look to attach themselves to an animal or human beginning in May to feed. But Keesing said rising global temperatures are moving feeding time up by a month. “May has been Lyme disease awareness month, but we may have to change it to April,” she said.

There was a total of 28,453 confirmed cases in the U.S. in 2015, the CDC said.  The CDC estimates the number of Lyme disease cases nationwide could be 10 times higher than what's actually reported. Because Lyme disease's early symptoms — fatigue, muscle pain, joint swelling, fever — often mimic the flu or other diseases, infected people — and even their doctors — often don't test for it. Since it requires a special blood test, it is often misdiagnosed.

"With ticks, it is no longer just Lyme disease," Molaei said.
Each year, there are nearly 30,000 confirmed cases of Lyme disease across the United States, according to the CDC, though with unconfirmed cases, the total may be as high as 300,000.

Black-legged ticks are the common carriers of several tick-borne illnesses, including Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, Powassan virus and babesiosis, (other tick-borne diseases include Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Rickettsia paarkeri, Southern Tick-Associated Rash Illness (STARI) and Ehrlichiosis and Anaplasmosis). They can have life cycles of up to two to three years and are most active between May and July. The blacklegged tick population increased because ticks had an abundance of mice to feed on when they hatched. However, this spring those same ticks will be looking for their next blood meal and since mice will be in short-supply, the ticks will turn to the next best thing - humans!

Ticks must be attached to humans for 36 to 48 hours or more before the Lyme bacteria can be transmitted. According to the CDC, Lyme disease is the most commonly reported vector-borne illness in the U.S.  If detected early, the disease can be treated successfully with antibiotics. If left untreated, it can lead to serious heart and nervous system problems. Other long-term effects include headaches, chronic stomach problems, memory loss, stiffness of joints and speech impairment.

As Lyme disease cases increase, experts worry there could also be an increase in other tick-borne illnesses, like the rare but dangerous Powassan virus. Infected humans have an estimated 10 percent chance of dying from the virus, and half of those who survive sustain permanent neurological damage.

Unlike Lyme disease, which can take ticks at least a day to transmit to hosts, Powassan pathogens are passed on in just 15 minutes ― making immediate removal and treatment essential.

“It’s a really nasty disease,” Dr. Richard Ostfeld from Cary Institue of Ecosystem Studies said. “It is not something you ever want to get. ... This is definitely a disease that public health officials and ecologists need to keep their eyes on.”

While reported cases of Powassan are still extremely rare, Ostfeld said its potentially debilitating effects are just another reason people should educate themselves about tick behavior, removal and prevention.
Everyone is at risk for Powassan: Newborns, 20-somethings, the middle-aged, the elderly and the immunocompromised. Anyone bitten by an infected tick can get it, said Dr. Jennifer Lyons, chief of the Division of Neurological Infections and Inflammatory Diseases at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Infections are most likely during late spring, early summer and mid-fall, when ticks are most active.

"About 15% of patients who are infected and have symptoms are not going survive," said Lyons.  "Of the survivors, at least 50% will have long-term neurological damage that is not going to resolve."

Although most infected people will never show symptoms, those who do become sick usually do so a few days to about a week after the tick bite, she said. The most common symptoms will be fever and headache.  The unlucky few who develop a more serious illness will do so "very quickly over the next couple of days," she said. "You start to develop difficulties with maintaining your consciousness and your cognition. ... You may develop seizures. You may develop inability to breathe on your own."

Just as there are no vaccines to prevent infection, there are also no treatments for Powassan.

"To make the matter more complicated, we are seeing greater number of ticks infected with other tick-associated pathogens, including babesiosis and anaplasmosis,"  Goudarz Molaei, a research scientist at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station said.

Both babesiosis and anaplasmosis usually don't have symptoms, just like Powassan, though both may cause severe or even life-threatening illnesses.

Before heading out, wear light colored clothing, dress in long sleeves and pants, closed-toe shoes and consider tucking pant legs into socks, especially if you will be walking in tall grass or wooded areas. If hiking through the woods, remember to walk in the center of trails to avoid ticks.  Also, use a tick repellant containing DEET.  For prolonged outdoor activities such as camping, look for clothing and camping gear that is treated with permethrin.

Upon returning home from a walk through the woods, time in the garden or camping, it's important to perform a thorough tick check  - from head to toe. If you find a tick on your body, remove it with a slow, steady pull so as not to break off the mouthparts and leave them in the skin. Then wash hands and bite site thoroughly with soap and water. Flush ticks down the toilet or wrap them tightly in tissue before disposing in a closed receptacle. If you suspect a tick bite, seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Several tick diseases are present in Florida, and others can be contracted during travel.

If you are bitten by a tick and become ill, contact your physician. Depending on the disease and individual reactions, it may take several weeks for symptoms to appear.

Let's not forget our four legged companions, as fleas and ticks have always been, and will become a problem for cats and dogs. Florida’s warm and humid climate is perfect for them to survive year-round.

Fleas carry tapeworm eggs inside the body. When dogs and cats lick themselves, if digested, the tapeworm attaches itself to the pet's intestines.
Deer Ticks can cause the Lyme disease. American dog Ticks can carry Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and can cause tick paralysis.

The Brown Tick can cause Ehrlichiosis (a bacterial illness that causes flu like symptoms).

The Lone Star Tick carries Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

The best time to start flea and tick control program is in the late spring (although in Florida I recommend constant protection), before infestation begins. The first steps include, cleaning and vacuuming all surfaces where pets live. This includes washing their beds and blankets. Make sure you check the walls and behind hanging frames when cleaning and treating areas in your house. Ticks are in the arachnid family so they live on walls.

As for the yard, keep your grass cut about 3 inches or shorter. Keep shrubs and bushes near your house pruned. When applying insecticides in your yard, do not forget to treat porches, fences and decks. Lastly, treat your garden and areas with mulch because ticks will hide wherever it is safe.

What does it all mean? I believe you will agree that something smells really rotten and it is VERY good that the President fired Comey, that Hillary lost, that the Clinton Foundation has been rendered lifeless, and who the hell is Peter Comey, anyway?

According to Big League Politics the connections are; Peter Comey is Jimmy’s brother and property records show Jimmy holds the mortgage on bro’ Peter’s house in Virginia. What a good bro’! However, that’s what we call a “Financial Connection”, all while Jimmy was FBI Director. Now that would be okay but for the facts that Peter’s role at the law firm DLA Piper is the Senior Director of Real Estate Operations for the Americas and DLA Piper is one of the top donors to Hillary Clinton AND also does the taxes for the Clinton Foundation AND preformed the 2015 audit when the Foundation tax scandal broke! No, I’m not kidding!

What that little bit of info means is that FBI Director Comey had a direct, personal and financial connection to a law firm executive of DLA Piper while he was investigating DLA Piper’s client, Hillary Clinton! J. Edgar Hoover just jumped up and out of his grave!

In 2010, Comey departed Lockheed Martin as General Counsel ( with a reported 6 million dollars) and the same year, Martin became a member of the Clinton Global Initiative AND “won” 17 contracts from the US State Department, led by, none other than Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Then in 2013 James Comey, joined the board of the British Bank, HSBC Holdings which just happened to be a Clinton Foundation partner. Wow, I can’t keep up with this guy Comey. Saying James Comey had ties to the Clintons, is like saying Hillary Clinton is dishonest. So if this entire story is true, as Big League Politics says, then what the hell was Comey doing investigating Hillary? Wait…you don’t think James Comey was “colluding” with the Clintons, do you…naw…it can’t be possible …can it?

In the real FBI, we were NOT allowed to even speculate in the stock market, or associate with ANYONE who was even thought to be sleazy, let alone people who defined the word sleazy! Boy did Comey cross the “Integrity” line, FBI, Fidelity Bravery Integrity, really?

All of this aside from the FACTS that Hillary approved the sale of 20% of our Uranium to Russia and that the Clinton Foundation received hundreds of millions in the “pay for play” schemes that Comey didn’t investigate…or did he? What about the biggest security scandal in US history, Hillary’s emails and secret email server. Don’t you believe Comey should have reclused, dissolved, moved away, RAN away, retreated from, dodged, avoided ANY decisions in the Hillary case?!

No one seems to know whether or not the FBI even looked at the most basic money laundering scheme ever, the Clinton Foundation, and what the hell is really important to the LEADERS of the DEMOCRAT PARTY…? I know… did the President EVER talk to Vladimir Putin, is the President   really a billionaire?! Duh! Why isn’t the all Democrat, Obama Care Bill, the biggest disaster in US history, important enough to get some Democrat and press attention? What about our Military that Obama all but destroyed. What about an economy that Obama tried his best to crash? The only thing important to Schumer, Pelosi, Sanders…the Democrat party leaders is LET”S GET EVEN…SCREW THE CONSTITUTION!!!

My dear friends, the most important thing for you and me is for our President to keep us ALL safe! He can’t do that if laws ( like The 1952 Immigration and Naturalization Act)  that were passed to allow our President  avoid cumbersome Judicial Proceeding which proceedings are now being allowed to stop him cold! When a Democrat Party is so obsessed with loosing that they will lie, cheat, obstruct, ignore their own Rule of Law…JUST TO GET EVEN, it proves they don’t believe in our Constitution!

Mr President, appoint a RETIRED, former, FBI Executive who believes in the Integrity that made the FBI great and direct AG Sessions to reopen the Clinton “cases” and open a  RICO case on Obama and his staffers who conspired to destroy America! The hell with the Dems and the press, it’s the Right thing to do!!!

A new public opinion poll finds that the majority of Americans support government regulations as the best way to encourage use of renewable energy, while a minority believes the private marketplace can do the job.

A new Pew Research Center survey of 1,000 U.S. adults shows that a 54 percent majority believes that “government regulations are necessary to encourage businesses and consumers to rely more on renewable energy sources.”

Just 38 percent support the idea that “the private marketplace will ensure that businesses and consumers rely more on renewable energy sources, even without government regulations.”

“Americans tend to support a ‘check all that apply’ approach to energy policy,” said Cary Funk, lead author and associate director of research at Pew Research Center.

“About half of the public believes that a range of environmental and economic considerations should be top priorities in the country’s energy policies,” said Funk.

“While there are sizeable partisan divides over how much importance to place on protecting the environment in energy policy, Republicans and Democrats hold more similar views about the importance of low consumer costs and creating jobs in the energy sector,” he explained.

Still, a “close divide” exists on a core question shaping policy debates today – whether it is possible to cut back environmental regulations and still effectively protect water and air quality.

Some 49 percent think it is possible to trim regulations and still protect air and water, compared with 47 percent who believe it is not possible to protect those resources with fewer regulations.

The survey also finds that 54 percent of American adults believe the Trump administration is doing too little to protect the environment, while 30 percent think the administration is doing “about the right amount.” Just five percent believe the administration is doing too much.

Among the main findings:

Americans, as a whole, support giving priority to both environmental and economic dimensions of energy policy:

-53 percent say protecting the environment from the effects of energy development and use should be a “top priority”

-52 percent describe increasing reliance on renewable energy sources as a top priority

-49 percent think creating jobs within the energy sector should be a top priority

-49 percent maintain that keeping consumer energy prices low should
be a top priority

-48 percent see reducing dependence on foreign energy sources as a top priority

-Most Americans see renewable energy sources as effective in minimizing air pollution:

-88 percent say solar power is “very effective” (68 percent) or “somewhat effective” (20 percent) in minimizing air pollution

-84 percent think wind power is “very effective” (63 percent) or “somewhat effective” “(21 percent) in minimizing air pollution
The public is less confident about whether other energy sources are effective in minimizing air pollution:

-55 percent say nuclear power is “very effective” (28 percent) or “somewhat effective” (27 percent) in minimizing air pollution.

-72 percent of adults believe natural gas is “very” (30 percent) or “somewhat effective” (42 percent) in minimizing air pollution.
-Minorities consider either oil (41 percent) or coal (34 percent) at least somewhat effective in minimizing air pollution.

These are some findings from a Pew Research Center survey conducted among a nationally representative sample of 1,012 adults, ages 18 or older from May 3-7, 2017. The margin of sampling error based on the full sample is plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.

Softwood Cuttings

Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, graduations, reunions and weddings are times to remember. One way people remember others is to give gifts. Trees can make very long-lasting gifts. Ones that have historical significance for the giver and recipient are even more special.

For instance, President Andrew Jackson planted a Southern magnolia in the south lawn of the White House in remembrance of his wife, who had died a few months before his inauguration. The tree came from a cutting of a tree at their Hermitage plantation in Tennessee. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan gave his retiring chief of staff, Howard Baker, a cutting from the Jackson magnolia. In May 1995, Baker planted a cutting from his tree at the Hermitage, which is now a museum.

If you have an old $20 bill, look to the left of the White House portico and you will see the large Southern magnolia tree. The Jackson magnolia at the White House is still growing despite being hit by an airplane, at Baker's residence in Tennessee and at the Hermitage Plantation. The single tree is growing in three locations because of cloning. If you start with a piece of a branch, known as a cutting, and take care of it so that it grows its own roots, you will have two individually separate yet genetically identical trees.

Many trees and shrubs have been grown this way for centuries. It is not hard. You just have to be a little patient. Most of our landscape trees and shrubs can be reproduced with softwood cuttings. Look at any tree branch and you will notice that the end of the branch that has leaves growing directly on it is a different color than the section of branch growing closer to the tree trunk. The older sections of the branch are known as hardwood cuttings. The softwood cuttings still have the ability to grow roots. In many trees and shrubs, hardwood has lost this ability.

Prune the softwood cutting about 6 inches to 1 foot long. When pruning, always leave a bud at the end of the branch so the branch can continue to grow. On many cuttings, the section of stem between buds will not grow, so it should be cut off. The leaves should be removed from the bottom third up to one-half of the cutting. The stem should then be stuck into sand, perlite, vermiculite or peat moss. Keep the cuttings in a shady location with lots of humidity and moisture for several months.

Professionals use a greenhouse with automatic misters. We can improvise with a milk jug cut in half. The bottom is filled with sand; the cuttings are placed in; and the top is set back on. It can be held in place with a dowel running out the top and a clothespin to hold it on. The pros also use rooting hormones that are often available in garden centers or catalogs. The hormones do increase the percentage of cuttings that will root and the amount of roots the cuttings get.

The more cuttings you take the better your chance that some will root. The longer you wait (as long as they are not dead) the more likely some will root. Some tree cuttings will have lots of roots in only a month, and others will need all summer and fall to get enough roots to survive on their own.

Who is the real threat to the national security?

Is it President Trump who shared with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov the intelligence that ISIS was developing laptop bombs to put aboard airliners?

Or is it The Washington Post that ferreted out and published this code-word intelligence, and splashed the details on its front page, alerting the world, and ISIS, to what we knew.

President Trump has the authority to declassify security secrets. And in sharing that intel with the Russians, who have had airliners taken down by bombs, he was trying to restore a relationship.

On fighting Islamist terror, we and the Russians agree.

Five years ago, Russia alerted us that Tamerlan Tsarnaev had become a violent radical Islamist. That was a year and a half before Tsarnaev carried out the Boston Marathon bombing.

But upon what authority did The Washington Post reveal code-word intelligence secrets? Where in the Constitution or U.S. law did the Post get the right to reveal state secrets every U.S. citizen is duty bound to protect?

The source of this top secret laptop-bomb leak that the Post published had to be someone in the intel community who was violating an oath that he had sworn to protect U.S. secrets, and committing a felony by leaking that secret.

Those who leaked this to hurt Trump, and those who published this in the belief it would hurt Trump, sees themselves as the "Resistance" -- like the French Resistance to Vichy in World War II.
And they seemingly see themselves as above the laws that bind the rest of us.

"Can Donald Trump Be Trusted With State Secrets?" asked the headline on the editorial in The New York Times.

One wonders: Are these people oblivious to their own past?

In 1971, The New York Times published a hoard of secret documents from the Kennedy-Johnson years on Vietnam. Editors spent months arranging them to convince the public it had been lied into a war that the Times itself had supported, but had turned against.

Purpose of publication: Damage and discredit the war effort, now that Richard Nixon was commander in chief. This was tantamount to treason in wartime.

When Nixon went to the Supreme Court to halt publication of the Pentagon Papers until we could review them to ensure that sources and methods were not being compromised, the White House was castigated for failing to understand the First Amendment.

And for colluding with the thieves that stole them, and for publishing the secret documents, the Times won a Pulitzer.

Forty years ago, the Post also won a Pulitzer -- for Watergate.

The indispensable source of its stories was FBI Deputy Director Mark Felt, who repeatedly violated his oath and broke the law by leaking the contents of confidential FBI interviews and grand jury testimony.

Felt, "Deep Throat," was a serial felon. He could have spent 10 years in a federal penitentiary had his identity been revealed. But to protect him from being prosecuted and sent to prison, and to protect themselves from the public knowing their scoops were handed to them by a corrupt FBI agent, the Post kept Felt's identity secret for 30 years. Yet, their motto is "Democracy Dies in Darkness."

Which brings us to the point.
T
he adversary press asserts in its actions a right to collude with and shelter disloyal and dishonorable officials who violate our laws by leaking secrets that they are sworn to protect.
Why do these officials become criminals, and why do the mainstream media protect them?

Because this seedy bargain is the best way to advance their common interests.

The media get the stolen goods to damage Trump. Anti-Trump officials get their egos massaged, their agendas advanced and their identities protected.

This is the corrupt bargain the Beltway press has on offer.

For the media, bringing down Trump is also good for business. TV ratings of anti-Trump media are soaring. The "failing New York Times" has seen a surge in circulation. The Pulitzers are beckoning.

And bringing down a president is exhilarating. As Ben Bradlee reportedly said during the Iran-Contra scandal that was wounding President Reagan, "We haven't had this much fun since Watergate."

When Nixon was brought down, North Vietnam launched a spring offensive that overran the South, and led to concentration camps and mass executions of our allies, South Vietnamese boat people perishing by the thousands in the South China Sea, and a holocaust in Cambodia.

When Trump gets home from his trip, he should direct Justice to establish an office inside the FBI to investigate all illegal leaks since his election and all security leaks that are de facto felonies, and name a special prosecutor to head up the investigation.

Then he should order that prosecutor to determine if any Trump associates, picked up by normal security surveillance, were unmasked, and had their names and conversations spread through the intel community, on the orders of Susan Rice and Barack Obama, to seed the bureaucracy to sabotage the Trump presidency before it began.
